SaharaRelief is an international charitable organization committed to the delivery of essential healthcare to mothers and children in the Sahara desert region and Western Africa. There is a dire lack of basic healthcare services in Africa, especially relating to maternal and child healthcare. The implications of inadequate access to healthcare extend beyond the medical realm; poor health can negatively affect one's ability to attend school, earn a living, or interact in the community. Thus, the provision of healthcare services is essential not only to ensure the physical well-being of mothers and children, but also their social and economic prospects for the future.
We aim to establish a system of health care stations in the region, utilizing modern medical techniques and supplies. An essential part of this process will be the training of indigenous health care workers and the development of continuing education programs, which will be achieved through ongoing collaboration between the African clinics and various American medical providers. In turn, this will lead to a series of autonomously operating clinics that together form the fundamental structure of an independent healthcare system for mothers and children that is both effective and sustainable.
